 Pickerel Bay Cabins has a fleet of 14 boats, all 16 ft. deep V, aluminum are equipped with 15 h.p. and 25h.p. motors, rubber nets, life jackets, seats and emergency oars. Our boats with the 25 h.p. motors are also outfitted with transom mounted electric trolling motors for the slow walleye presentation days. This is not the case with the 15 h.p. motors, the slow troll on them is perfect for trolling walleye.
For the late season Lake Trout angler (july,august) we outfit three boats with hand crank Canon downriggers plus downrigger rods and reels with 30 pd. test line. For the novice user we will teach you the proper use of these valuable deep water angling tools. During summer's warm temps, Lake Trout go deep. Therefore these downriggers are most important to catch the big ones in Hunter Bay. Each boat will have only 3 adults. Our anglers are allowed to fish in Pickerel Bay at any time of day or night. We do ask our anglers that want to fish Hunter Bay and the Lonely River to be back at camp around 10:00 p.m.
