Lake Trout
Lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) is a freshwater char living mainly in lakes in northern North America.
Lake trout are the largest of the charrs, the record at Pickerel Bay is 25.40 kg (56 lbs). Lake trout are prized both as game fish and as food fish.
Walleye
The walleye (Sander vitreus) is often considered to have the best tasting flesh of any freshwater fish.
Because of its nocturnal feeding habits, it is most easily caught at night using plastic minnows or lures that mimic small fish.
Boat in or Fly in
Pickerel Bay is accessible only by boat or float plane.
Primary travel across La La Ronge is by boat, or you could experience the North American adventure by arriving at Pickerel Bay via float plane.
