Lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) is a freshwater char living mainly in lakes in northern North America.
Lake trout are the largest of the charrs, the record at Pickerel Bay is 25.40 kg (56 lbs). Lake trout are prized both as game fish and as food fish.

Walleye

The walleye (Sander vitreus) is often considered to have the best tasting flesh of any freshwater fish.
Because of its nocturnal feeding habits, it is most easily caught at night using plastic minnows or lures that mimic small fish.

2009 Xtreme July Walleye:

The estimated amount of 10 plus pound walleye in Pickerel Bay is staggering according to Resource Management. If 50,000 to over 600,000 eggs are produced by a 10-pound-class fish that would mean Pickerel Bay is literally teaming with trophy walleye.

And so it is... That's why it is important to catch and release our trophy female walleye.

Pickerel Bay Cabins is dedicated to the preservation of our trophy fishery. We strive to be stewards of this land, which includes managing its wildlife. We trust the angler wishing to fish our water also embraces the concept of fisheries conservation.
